Where now are those that came before?

Awakened is an album written over a 12 month period, detailing a journey of introspection, self-reflection and, ultimately, reawakening. "Where Now" kicks off this journey, by asking the question that we've all asked at one point or another: Where am I headed? Where is the path I'm on going to lead me? And, is that the place I want to go?

Lyrically, this song sets up a few key metaphors for the rest of the album, particularly that of the ethereal starry sky, upon which we dream and superimpose an idea of heaven; and the corporeal sea below, upon which we see a reflection of the starry sky, into which we dive, and in which we drown, chasing a false idea of heaven.
