I have awakened
From eternal sleep.
I rise
Destined to die,
Built for demise,
Facing the overwhelming tide -
But I will ascend for eternity.

In the reverberating silence of isolation
I stand alone
Among echoes
Of everything I was and will be -
It exists in me...
But I feel the weight eluding me.
Upon the threshold of my heavenly throne -
I see the stars still out of reach
Unlike the sea,
Mirroring the heavens corporeally;
I finally perceive this destiny of absurdity.

And as the final [breath of]
My ambition [escapes me I]
Finally perceive [my destiny].
As I become [entombed]
Upon my throne [I fade into]
Despondency.

Stand

I have awakened
To my apathy.
Amidst the darkness of my desolation
I feel the throes of destiny
Beseeching me.
There is no paradise to run to -
No place to escape the futility of my being.

Open my eyes just to realise I've died.

Chasing purpose to the surface just to see
In chasing a dream of ascendency
I only found apathy.

Emptiness pervading every fabric of me
As the albatross awakens tearing my heart out
Leaving me to yearn for heaven, without a dream to
Comfort me from the truth that heaven’s not there.

The ocean shimmers, tantalising;
Glistening in the light of the stars out of reach.
Staring down from the heavens, uncaring -
Is a destiny of apathy the only thing awaiting me?
