Psychosis is Ascent of Autumn's first single since the release of their debut album, Awakened, in 2022, and the first to have been co-written with new guitarist Samuel Kennedy.

Musically, the song is an extension of Awakened's sound, whilst tapping into new sounds ahead of new music to come.

Lyrically, the song is a reflection of technology in our lives, relying more and more on things and less and less on ourselves, and how that saps away our humanity.
